Brits love a bit of adventure on holiday

Despite the stereotyped image of the conservative Englishman, it appears that many Britons are set to head abroad on adventure holidays this year.

According to figures from More Than, one in eight Brits will go on an adventure holiday or one that involves a fair degree of risk this year.

Winter activities such as skiing and snowboarding are the most common form of dangerous activity engaged in by Brits on their hols, although ice climbing, dog sledding and scuba diving and are also increasingly popular.

Those that enjoy living life on the edge are advised to take out adequate insurance for their vacation needs.

Keira Clark, More Than head of travel insurance, remarked: "As a nation, we’re going on more adventurous and more risky winter holidays now than ever before.

"But our statistics show that despite this, one in eight holiday makers are still not taking out any form of travel insurance."

Around one in six young people fail to take out travel insurance when they go abroad, the research claims.
