Insuring caravans "simple"
Organising insurance when planning to take a caravan on holiday is not as complicated as people may think, it has been claimed.
According to the British Insurance Brokers' Association (BIBA), the liability risk for a caravan when attached to a car in transit is usually covered by a driver's standard motor insurance policy.
Damage to the caravan itself is a separate issue and something which owners must ensure they are covered for, although most insurance policies include Europe within their limits, meaning that people should be able to take their caravan on holiday without too much trouble, the BIBA stated.
A spokesperson for the organisation said: "The attraction is that it is very simple. The most difficult part of caravanning is learning to reverse.
"[Travelling abroad] is not normally too much of an issue. So as long as the motor insurance has European cover, then that will be provided."
According to esure, the distraction caused by flying insects is one of the major reasons for motor insurance claims during the summertime. A personal loan can help make motoring more affordable.
