Expats 'failing to organise finances'

Though many Britons are moving overseas to work for perks like tax-free salaries, many are still not paying close enough attention to their savings, according to Alliance & Leicester.

More than 70 per cent of expatriates are neglecting to put at least a portion of their wages into a savings account, the bank found.

And though 40 per cent of expatriates use the internet for over an hour a day, the majority are still neglecting to set up an offshore account.

Simon Hull, managing director of Alliance & Leicester International said: "Although in today's diverse society there is no such thing as a 'typical' expat, people consistently fail to open an offshore savings account when moving abroad.

"With reliable internet access now widely available in most countries, expat workers can safely and easily find the best ways to save their wages."

Meanwhile Foreign Currency Direct has said that disillusionment with the British lifestyle is causing many Britions to buy property abroad, reports Ready2Invest. A personal loan can help people moving overseas to organise their finances.
