Skiers 'hit slopes without insurance'
A large number of British holidaymakers are heading to ski resorts this winter without travel insurance, a new survey has stated.
Moneysupermarket.com reported that 28 per cent of people plan to go skiing without taking out a travel insurance policy, while 23 per cent said that they could not remember if they had organised cover for their excursion.
In addition, the research discovered that 16 per cent of people who visit ski resorts admit to spending no time on the piste whatsoever, preferring to focus on the apres ski activities instead.
Head of insurance research at the price comparison website Peter Gerrard commented: "It's surprising how many holidaymakers now go for the good times alone and never set foot on the slopes.
"The millions of people who do ski and snowboard cannot afford to skimp on their travel insurance."
Gapyear.com recently stated that about 25 per cent of people do not have travel insurance for their pre-university round the world trips.
