Websites 'raise awareness about insurance'
Financial web pages that promote shopping around for good deals have helped increase awareness about the need for life insurance, it has been claimed.
Nick Kirwan, head of health and protection insurance for the Association of British Insurers, (ABI) explained that "anything that helps to spread the message among consumers and provide choice to people" has had a positive effect.
These websites are a suitable way to introduce people to the range of options out there, he remarked.
Mr Kirwan added that "if people have a good idea about what they want" they should be able to navigate the potential options online.
However, those who still remain uncertain about what they should choose may instead want to contact a financial adviser, he added.
Around one-third of Britons do not have any life insurance and a further one in three have not renewed in the past five years, according to estimates made by the ABI.
