Skoda grabs What Car? Award
Skoda has been recognised in the latest What Car? Magazine awards with its Octavia Estate winning the Best Buy Estate Under £15,000 category.
The £12,965 Octavia 1.6 FSI Classic beat off competition from the likes of the Ford Focus, Vauxhall Astra and Kia Cee'd SW to be named the winner in the group.
"You don't need to have a large budget to buy a practical estate car with loads of room," said What Car? editor Steve Fowler.
"You don't have to feel short-changed in other departments if you've got less than £15,000 to spend, either."
Many motor industry journalists were in attendance at the awards evening, as well as representatives from car manufacturers.
The What Car? editor highlighted that the Octavia's large boot, high-quality feel and standard equipment meant it was "ahead of its rivals".
In 1991 Czech company Skoda became part of the Volkswagen group, taking its place alongside Volkswagen, Audi and Seat, according to the Skoda website.
