Sheep 'more dangerous behind the wheel'
Motorists with a penchant for astrology may be interested to read that driving ability may be determined by the year of birth.
Research conducted by elephant.co.uk based on the Chinese zodiac suggests that people born in certain years may be more or less likely to have accidents.
People born in the year of the sheep, for example, have had more accidents and more convictions, while people born in the year of the rabbit have seen the least of these occurrences.
Brian Martin, managing director of elephant.co.uk, said: "Although just a bit of fun, our research does suggest the year you were born could affect your driving ability."
"Having looked at the character traits of the different animals in the Chinese zodiac
we certainly wouldn't have expected unpredictable tigers to be some of the safest drivers, but perhaps more likely to be the most accident-prone."
Reasons for the sheep having such a bad record on the roads may be due to daydreaming tendencies, while rabbits' reserved and cautious behaviour has stood them in good stead.
In regards to strictly human behaviour on the road, men are 42 per cent more likely to have a head-on collision, according to elephant.co.uk figures.
