People 'picking Chevrolets'
Chevrolet proved a popular brand for new cars during January, according to the latest information from the car maker.
The company has said that its January 2008 sales surpassed those of a year before by some 81.4 per cent, with 2,079 new Chevrolets sold during the month.
"This is a fantastic performance and it proves that Chevrolet is rapidly becoming more and more known as a brand in the UK," said Rory Harvey, Chevrolet UK managing director.
Chevrolet has said that in the value-for-money car market it also beat rivals Kia, Suzuki and Hyundai for the first time, suggesting more people are opting for Chevrolets rather than models made by its competitors.
The Epica saloon and the Aveo supermini are set to join the Chevrolet line-up during the course of the year, while the recently introduced Capita SUV accounted for more than 15 per cent of registrations in January.
According to the Chevrolet website, the company's cars can be found in more than 70 countries across the world.
