A third of UK consumers 'concerned about debt'
One in three people in the UK are concerned about their level of debt, according to new research from YouGov.
Christmas spending on credit cards has been highlighted as one of the main issues leading to a build up of debt, MoneyExpert.com has stated.
The price comparison website's Debt Index has shown that while a third of people are concerned about their ability to keep on top of their debt, around three million people are exceptionally worried.
Sean Gardiner, chief executive at MoneyExpert.com, said: "There are many ways for people to get their finances under control.
"Whether you need to consolidate your debts with a loan or just juggle your borrowing onto cheaper products, the important thing is to work out a repayment plan and not bury your head in the sand."
In other research from the website, it was shown that more than four in five people are overpaying for their financial products.
