UK drivers numbering 7m encounter road rage
Over seven million drivers have been involved in road rage incidents over the past year, according to new research.
A study conducted by YouGov for MoneyExpert.com has shown that one in six motorists have been involved in confrontations with other drivers.
Some 300,000 people have suffered damage to their vehicle as a result of road anger, which, according to the financial comparison website, highlights the need for car insurance.
Sean Gardiner, a spokesperson for the company, commented: "Most of us will have lost our tempers while stuck in traffic and can sympathise with the sense of frustration felt by other drivers.
"The fact that one in six of us has suffered from road rage is worrying. And of course many of us may be guilty of road rage ourselves."
Many UK motorists are becoming more environmentally-friendly by opting for greener vehicles, with the sale of diesel cars increasing by four per cent, according to Experian.
