'Top tips' on home renovation
The organisers of the Scottish Homebuilding and Renovating Show have put together ten 'top tips' on ways consumers can renovate their home.
Clever homeowners could add real value to their property but only if they spend money in the right areas - this is where the experts come in.
Updating the kitchen is their number one piece of advice as altering this room can be an effective way to change the whole feel of a property, the experts advise.
They recommend adding new doors and handles to cupboards while making sure that the carcasses of the cupboards are in good nick.
Other tips include undertaking a loft conversion, as even though it can be expensive it is almost guaranteed to add value to your home, and improving the kerb appeal of the property by tidying the garden and driveway and re-pointing any brick or stonework.
The show is being held at the SECC in Glasgow on May 17th and 18th.
