Asda advises consumers 'to look around'
Asda has released findings that show the average household is £30 a month worse off than it was this time last year and it is advising consumers to shop around more to get the best deals on their insurance.
The supermarket chain believes that the credit crunch is putting a major strain on the purse strings of shoppers and this coupled with spiralling fuel prices is causing families' disposable incomes to dwindle.
Gideon Ingham, Asda's head of insurance, said: "Asda's research shows many families are living on increasingly stretched budgets with £30 per month less to spend. The credit crunch is adding to families' financial woes with many mortgage brokers withdrawing favourable lending rates."
Asda is currently the second largest supermarket chain operating in the UK. It has over 340 stores nationwide.
