Now is a good time to buy a house, say experts
With house prices on the wane and set to fall Britons might be surprised at suggestions that now is a good time to buy.
However, founder of the property investors network Simon Zutshi has said that the market is set to regain strength in the coming two to three years and therefore to purchase now when the market is weak makes great sense.
According to Mr Zutshi, the trick is to view property as a long-term investment and not as a "get rich quick scheme".
Mr Zutshi said: " You need to buy now at a great price but be prepared to hold it for a while. As long as you can afford the holding costs, now is a great time to buy property."
According to the quarterly ARLA Review and Index that was published in March, buy-to-let investors have seen an increase in their returns in the first quarter of 2008, with the average return on a rental investment being 21 per cent.
